TEST BENCHES FOR AUTOMATIC GEARBOX
BU1
The customer makes the total mechanical revision of automatic transmissions installed on cars of the Fiat group and various other European brands.
The various tests specified by the manufacturers must be performed by means of a mechanical bench, with computerized management, able to simulate real operating conditions of the vehicle (engine torque curve of the specific motor, inertia of the car, road inclination, aerodynamic resistance, driver given commands), recording all significant mechanical parameters (pressure, temperature, revolutions, couples), and evaluating if the gearbox exhibits the behavior expected by the manufacturer in various conditions.
Micropi has designed and produced all the electronics interface / control / acquisition / protection for this bank, and developed the software necessary for the implementation of the various tests required.
The mechanics was made by the customer.
The system regulates:
-
1 motor with adjustable torque and speed
-
1 adjustable brake torque
-
8 solenoids pressure control in PWM, various on/off user outputs .
The system reads:
-
6 pressures
-
2 couples
-
4 temperatures
-
4 rotation speed
-
8 currents
-
1 accelerator pedal
-
various device of analog and digital inputs
The operator interface consists of a PC, which communicates serially with a dedicated government bench controller. The final output consists of a certificate report to be attached to the gearbox.
The device, in addition to meet the production needs of the customer, fill up a gap in the European market; consequently Micropi has subsequently developed a family of devices for the diagnosis and testing of automatic transmissions.
For the same customer Micropi achieved:
-
Bench testing compressors for car air conditioners
-
Bench testing throttle for gasoline and diesel engines
-
Bench testing hydraulic power steering
-
Bench testing EGR valves
